Christopher Revello is a successful surgeon, has a loving family and beautiful new house until suddenly, tragedy strikes and his world is turned upside down. Forbidden Beginnings is William Rubens first book in his Medical Thriller series focusing on Christopher Revello.
The cops quickly found out who the bad guys were and where they were hiding. I was not on the edge of my seat with this thriller. The violence was not graphic. The suspense was mild. Dr. Revello turns to a Dexter style of vigilante revenge, but holds himself back. The language is mild, there were only 14 f-words. There were no sex scenes. William Ruben is a Doctor, but wrote the medical scenes in a fashion that was easy to read and understand. His writing style is easy going and doesn’t add a lot of fluffy descriptive words.
Christopher Revello’s Dad was a cop, his best friend is a cop and it’s easy to see that Chris will himself want to go after the criminals. I would be interested in reading the next books in the series to see how the role of Doctor and Detective converge. I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
